How We Care

HCI Care Services, formerly known as Hospice of Central Iowa, is a not-for-profit, independent healthcare organization.  Our care services are dedicated to providing quality of life, assuring dignity and helping individuals live comfortably in the place they call home.

Since opening our doors in 1978, thousands of Iowans have turned to us to find comfort and care when they needed it most.  In 2011, we're expanding our care services to help us reach out to even more people who need supportive, compassionate care.

Our Care Services:

HCI Hospice Care Services provides comfort, care and support for individuals and families living with serious illnesses.  Our team of experts is available to offer pain and symptom management, assistance in the home, emotional and spiritual support and helpful resources.

HCI ExtraCare Services is a private duty service available to clients and family caregivers who would like extra assistance in the client's residence.  Services range from companionship and housekeeping to medication set-up and chronic disease case management.

HCI Palliative Medicinecoming in 2012, will be available to chronically or seriously ill individuals who seek support and care for their pain and other symptoms.  This service is ideal for those who would like to continue pursuing curative treatment for their illness, but would like to balance their treatment with comfort measures.

All of our services support our mission:  Providing dignity, independence and quality of life through compassionate and effective community-based care.
