Grief Support
You are not alone.
When a loved one is dying, Hospice of Central Iowa social workers provide guidance, comfort and support. They help patients and families access community resources and offer suggestions for issues related to relationships, coping and grief.
After a death, there are more decisions and activities than most families really expect. Planning funeral or memorial services and other arrangements in advance may help ease the stress of making decisions at this time.
Hospice care does not end upon the death of a loved one.
Hospice of Central Iowa has a variety of grief support opportunities provided at no cost. Hospice of Central Iowa's bereavement counselors are available to meet with families or visit by phone throughout the first year following a patient's death. The counselor can provide families with information or simply lend a friendly ear. Hospice of Central Iowa also offers support groups, educational programs and literature to families, friends and the community. Families served by Hospice of Central Iowa receive grief education throughout the first year following the loss of their loved ones.
